About

John Joseph Frutchey, MA, LCMHC

I received my undergraduate degree from Lees-McRae College in the mountains of North Carolina. I obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) licensed in North Carolina. I have experience working with all ages of clients in a broad range of demographics and backgrounds. The counseling process is dynamic and I strive to counsel each client respectfully and openly. I use several theoretical frameworks chosen to fit the client’s needs based on their unique experiences and how they view the world. I work with each client to create positive changes to live a more fulfilled life.

Denise Frutchey, PsyD

I have been licensed for over 35 years and hold licensure in three states. I have devoted my career to working with individuals of all ages who come to me with some form of emotional distress or problem in living. I work daily to help people fully understand why they feel anxious or depressed, i.e., the cause of their distress and difficulties. I educate them about the importance of health boundaries in all situations and guide them to find relief and workable solutions. To this end, I use family-of-origin therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and, when appropriate, EMDR.
